Phlebotomy technician

If you’re considering becoming a doctor, this might be a good opportunity to try being a doctor’s shoes and see if it is the right career path for you or not. Phlebotomists take blood samples and prepare them for laboratory testing. For those that have a good attention to detail, this could be a good opportunity to learn as much as possible. The requirements to becoming a Phlebotomy technician aren’t that many, as you only need a GED or a high school diploma and you need to do a short course or a few weeks or semesters. You need the certification to begin working, as many employers do not hire without it.

Ultrasound technician

These technicians are in charge of performing the ultrasound imaging on people who need it. Not only that, ultrasound technicians also need to be able to properly position the patient and have the ability to distinguish between abnormal and normal ultrasound images. You need to take an accredited course and get a certificate and/or you can get an associate’s degree. The certification course is for a year in most cases, and if you want to continue your career as an ultrasound technician, then you can train further in specialized areas.

Nurse

Nurses are mainly there to look after the patients. They perform the diagnostic tests, implement the treatments, evaluate the patients, and help the doctors during exams. This can be a very rewarding career for those that are passionate about looking after other people, and this is also a good opportunity for those who want to try their hands in the medicine field. One will require a nursing license and an associate’s degree in Science in Nursing.

One can either choose to remain a nurse or they can complete the Bachelors of Science degree and go on to administrative positions. One can also opt for a Masters in Nursing as well; however, that will require a few years’ field experience.
